Bio
Edmund Boxley (He/They) joined the VCU Department of Gerontology and Virginia Center for Aging team as communications and administrative manager in 2024. He graduated from Ferrum College in 2018 with a Bachelor's of Art in Media and Communication and has since served in a variety of communication roles. Within each role, Edmund has cultivated a sense of teamwork, collaboration and appreciation.
With a vivid sense of creative design, seven years of communications know-how and an enthusiasm for engaging content creation, Edmund has contributed to the expansion and notoriety of VCU Gerontology and the Virginia Center on Aging (VCOA). He supports all the many important initiatives, programs and projects housed within VCU Gerontology and the VCOA. A dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ older adults, he partnered with SAGECollab and successfully guided the Virginia Center on Aging into becoming SAGECollab's first Virginia partner. He is the editor of Age in Action, an award winning newsletter, and Learning in Action.
As a graduate student in the M.S. in Gerontology program, Edmund dedicates his studies to mastering gerontology and furthering his skills in order to support older adults and the well being of everyone. In his free time, Edmund enjoys making a variety of crafts, playing with his two cats Oli and Cleo, watching One Piece and quad roller skating.
